The designations–and subscript numbers–have me very concerned. Laura is Beta? But Ivory is Beta! So does that mean Ivory is Laura, or does it mean my crack theory about Alpha not being Aden was right after all? Or is there yet some other explanation?
Oh, boy, I’m excited to see how this mystery unfolds. Whatever the answer is, I’m sure it will be heartbreaking. :’)
If Ivory is Laura then that could be why they weren’t meant to meet when they did. Fear that meeting too soon could trigger memories that haven’t been erased.
Maybe they’re just suppressed by the machine and could be triggered under certain circumstances? I’m probably over thinking this.
Also Laura has blue hair, Ivory’s hair is the same colour as Aden/Alpha’s hair. Unless they can alter physical appearance as well as memories, Ivory isn’t Laura(unless Laura’s hair was dyed).
Yeah, I think that’s the strongest counter-argument. They don’t look that much alike. I’m sure the consortium has the tech to reconfigure her appearance if they want to, but I doubt they care enough to use it. They haven’t even bothered fixing Alpha’s ear. Daniel aside, we know the attitude is mostly «Forget it, we can make more.» Which I’ve been assuming is where Ivory came from. I expect there’s a good reason she looks so much like Aden. I don’t think Ivory is Laura, after all we saw her executed, but on the darker note, she could have been made from what was left of Laura, a new persona in a remade body.
If that’s the case that would add to the already mentally scarred duo here.
